Exhibition Of Official And Amateur Snapshots Of The Royal Family Opens At Kensington Palace

The British Royal Family has used photography to connect with their subjects for nearly 200 years, thanks to the patronage of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Some were official portraits, such as those by Cecil Beaton, Rankin, Annie Leibovitz and Norman Parkinson. Others were made more informally by Royals. For the Life Though A Royal Lens exhibition, recently opened at Kensington Palace, the curators invited the public to submit their snapshots, too. About 200 prints made it through the public submission process.

This website has more details, plus a small selection of images in the form of a Royal Family Album.
