“I Am An American” Exhibition Opens 3pm 8/26/2022

To draw attention to xenophobia and discrimination directed toward Asian Americans over the last 80 years, photographer Jim Lommasson and artist Roberta Wong assembled the “I Am An American: Stories of Exclusion and Belonging” exhibition. It will run from August 26, through January 8, 2023 at the Oregon Historical Society, 1200 SW Park Ave. Portland, OR 97205, with an opening reception at 3pm. The title is based on a rally cry used by Japanese Americans who were interred in camps during World War II.

Admission to the Oregon Historical Society is free for residents of Multnomah County (bring ID). Click here to check the schedule and covid requirements

The exhibition has many components, some of which offer grants and opportunities to volunteer and contribute. Be sure to check the website to learn more.
