Get To Know: Franco Sortini

Born in Capua in 1958, Franco Sortini was exposed to a number of forms of photography early on, but eventually settled on a style which eliminates people and animals. This seems to somehow neutralize one’s preconceptions about what should be within the frame. The viewer is presented with carefully controlled framing and colors, with surprising overlaps both in the focal plane and throughout the depth of the image.

He has exhibited widely and published over a dozen books. He currently lives in Salerno. Click here to check out his website.
