A Love Letter To Artists Who Face Rejection Of Their Works

Anna Samo is an independent filmmaker who uses analog photography to create her animations. She originated in Moscow, wound up in Berlin, and also lives and works in New York. Her Conversations with a Whale deals with artist’s excited anticipation when they send off submissions to exhibitions and festivals, and the discouraging rejection slips that cause self-doubt and block creativity.

The 8-minute film is captivating and the resolution is uplifting.
