Open Call for Photographers And Visual Artists, Deadline 3/23, Helsinki Photo Festival

The Helsinki Photo Festival open call for work is now open. The theme for 2021 is “Fearless.” As part of the application, you will need to write an explanation of how your work matches the theme.

Fifty artists' images will be selected for solo- and group exhibitions during the festival. This year, the festival runs 7/7~9/30/2021. Finalists will have their work produced by the Festival for exhibition either indoors, outdoors, or both. Festival venues include art centers, warehouses, libraries, galleries, pop-ups, parks, and waterfront areas around greater Helsinki.

The organization is an NPO dedicated to promoting photographs and other visual media as art forms. It connects artists with an international network abroad and in Finland. The event is a combination of fine art photographs and street exhibition. Artist talks, seminars, photo walks and portfolio reviews are all part of the fund.

For more details about entering, to see credentials of the jurors, etc., see this page. At the time of publication, the €23 entry fee equalled $27.66 USD for one project of up to 15 images.
