Hangar Photo Art Center Releases “The World Within” Book Created During Lockdown

It’s a small world, after all! While the Portland Photographers’ Forum was assembling a book about Covid-19 quarantine from the point of view of it’s members —Closing Doors, Opening Windows)—27 photographers in the European Union were working on a similar project.

Hangar Photo Art Center challenged the artists to show their “world within” using only a positive lens that would burst the “quarantine universe. “The World Within,” released during the PhotoBrussels Festival, contains nearly 600 images in 312 pages.

In the sample below, the photographers structured her series by requiring all volunteer models to be at their window in clothes especially chosen for the photo session. No contact was allowed before, or during the session.
