2/10 Entry Deadline, “The Art Of Energy” Exhibition
Scotland’s first university, the University of St. Andrews, recently announced a February 10, 2021 deadline for submissions to their virtual exhibition of creative works (photography, printmaking, drawing, mixed media, short films and videos, sound art, poems and short essays). The “Art of Energy” entries should answer questions such as “How would you artistically conceptualise our current energy predicament where we need to balance energy demand with concern about human-driven climate change? How can we make sense of the entanglement of life with energy in the past, present and future?”
To give you an idea about how people across the pond are currently thinking about energy and ethics, check out this edition of the Journal of the Royal Anthropological Institute and the November, report on the 2020 Energy Ethics conference at St. Andrews.
There is no fee to participate. The exhibition will be entirely online. The organizers expect to inform participants by February 15. Accepted participants should be present for a virtual announcement of finalists on Feb 26. There will be prozes for the top three in each of the four categories, and the top three finalists will receive awards of £1,000, £250, and £150. For more information, click here.
