Art In The Pearl Festival Has Nine Photographers This Year

The Art In The Pearl festival occurs annually on Labor Day weekend in Portland, Oregon’s “North Pearl Blocks.” It is on the list of Top 10 Arts and Crafts Festivals, according to the Art Fair Source Book. Competition for a booth space is fierce, however this year nine photographers juried into the event.

It runs 9/3~9/5/2022. The hours are 10am-6pm, Saturday and Sunday and 10am-4pm, Monday. The event is free and no tickets are required for entry. In addition to viewing artists’ booths, you will find music, theater, hands-on activities, and food. If you can, stop by and see the following photographers:

Note: As of this writing, Multnomah County is averaging 119 new cases of COVID-19 per day. The test positivity rate is 6%, although this is considered to be an underestimate because not all tests are reported. There is no government requirement to social distance or wear a good-fitting respirator (N95/KN95), especially if you are fully vaccinated. However, it is still a good idea. Elders, people with various health conditions that reduce their immune response, and those who wish to help slow down the rate at which new variant strains are developed will be wearing masks, distancing, and hand-washing.

BTW-The current sub-variant on the rise is BA-5. It is estimated that 75% of new cases are due to this version of the virus. It is the most highly contagious strain to date, and previous infections or vaccinations do not have much effect on it. Long-term effects of repeated infections appear to be cumulative.
