DSLR Sales Sink As Smartphone Photo Quality Rises

According to a blog post by Statista.com, more and more people are abandoning DSLR cameras in favor of simply using their cell phone cameras. In just ten years, yearly shipments of cameras have dropped from 120 million units to about 15 million units. Raw data was obtained from CIPA, an association of manufacturers that includes Zeiss, Canon, Xacti, Sigma, OM Digital, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic, Fuijifilm, Ricoh, Kenko Tokina, Cosina, andTamron.
