Visit Iris Noack’s Prints In The PPF Community Drawer Through January 2023

The Blue Sky Gallery in Portland, Oregon, graciously provides flat storage space to local photography groups. The Portland Photographers’ Forum uses it’s drawer to feature members for up to two months. Right now, through the end of January 2023, you’ll find ten of Iris Noack’s best. It’s ok to pick them up, look very closely, and spend some quality time in the quiet of the gallery space. The prints are also for sale, if you would like to take a few home with you.

Here is her artist statement and short resumé for the display:

I am fascinated by textures and layers, and how light reflects images from nature. Most of my images are taken when I’m out hiking and/or traveling. No matter how often I get out there, I am always in awe of nature.

I combine my interest in photography with my skill as a graphic artist, often enhancing and incorporating photos into my work involving print media, art direction and web design.
I find compelling images in ordinary, wild things: how light captures the ridges and curves of a pumpkin, caught in black and white to match the mood of the season; how a family hike reveals unparalleled scenery, the natural world’s infinite playground of light.

Resumé

I am a graphic artist with a Fine Arts degree, double major in Graphic Design and Photography. I learned film photography, some large format photography and lots of darkroom techniques. The last few years I’ve been picking up photography again, delving into the digital world.
