Visitors To Exhibition Make Their Own Version Of “The Potato Eaters”

An exhibition of Van Gogh’s Potato Eaters opens October 8 at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, raising the question “Mistake or Masterpiece?” How does this connect with photography, you might ask?

One of the activities at the show is a forced perspective, miniature model of the peasant hut in which Van Gogh’s painting is thought to be set. Visitors can pose their family members in this scene and photograph their own version of the Potato Eaters!

Aha! At last—a connection! Just imagine all the locations that can be built and photograph! Take THAT, travel restrictions!
