1/17/2022 PPF Meeting Features Pat Welle
Patte Welle is Our Featured Speaker for January
We are delighted to have one of PPF's own, Pat Welle, as our speaker (via Zoom), on Monday, January 17 at 7:00pm. Pat writes "As photographers, we use a visual medium to reflect what is important to us, or what we are familiar with. For many years and through multiple careers, I’ve used photographs and maps to present narratives… to tell a story. In this presentation I will share my experiences in creating two books focused on the Columbia River Estuary and its importance to Pacific salmon. From story development, image selection, and the process of bringing multiple elements together in books, I’ll talk about the challenges and rewards of this fascinating process."
Pat has degrees in Photography and Environmental Science, and retired two years ago from a career in natural resources. Currently living on Willapa Bay, she is exploring waterways of the Pacific Northwest with her camera, while restoring local native habitats.
Pat is wrapping up her term on the PPF board where she has served as Vice President for the last two years. We thank Pat for her time and contributions to the Forum. For more on Pat Welle's photography and publications go to www.patwelle.com
