Inaugural “Silver List” Of Early Career Photographers Worthy Of Amplification Released

For about the last fifteen years, Franklin Leonard’s Black List drew attention to great Hollywood screenplays that had yet to be produced. This year, the Silver Eye Center for Photography released a similar list of photographers doing great work that was still mostly unseen.

About 500 critics, publishers, scholars, educators and non-profit organization curators completed surveys. That was distilled to 47 comtempory photographers. It is not considered to be a “best of” list, but rather a record of a moment in time of the thinking of the professional photography community.

James Thomas Wang, a student at Cernegie Mellon University suggested the idea and various partners quickly signed on.
