Sails Chong was a salesman for the gas/oil industry when he picked up the “hobby” of photography. Somehow, within the next dozen years or so, he became one of the biggest commercial photographers in China. He is known for huge, precisely designed set pieces.

It is said that he considers his projects are like a long-distance run. The hardest part is just before you hit “the wall” and have to push yourself not to give up. But, of course, photography has no finish line—it’s a constant evolution.
