Adobe Announces Photoshop Upgrade For Apple Silicon, Adds Super Resolution
Here is a YouTube video showing Julieann Kost using Adobe Camera Raw’s (v13.2) new Super Resolution feature. We recently saw the addition of an “enhance details” process, but Super Resolution adds in artificial intelligence.
Adobe trained the application on millions of photos so that Camera Raw can now intelligently boost the resolution of an image. The video demonstrates cleaner edges and preservation of significant details.
The supported file types are raw mosaic files from cameras with Bayer sensors (Canon, Nikon, Sony, and others) and Fujifilm X-Trans sensors. You’ll find this feature in Camera Raw 13.2. It produces 2x the linear resolution of the original image, resulting in 4x the total pixel count. (A 16 megapixel image becomes a 64 megapixel DNG.)
